Learn about photosynthesis, plant needs, native vs. non-native species, and how plants support people and wildlife. Each student will plant a native seed to take home.

PEDAL POWER: BIKE SAFTEY & SKILLS

Join us at the Ketchum Bike Park (across from Hemingway Elementary) to learn essential biking skills for navigating trails and roads. Bikes for elementary-aged participants are provided by the ERC or bring your own. Please bring a helmet with your child’s name on it if you have one; helmets are also available to borrow from the ERC.

BIRDING SAFARI AT SILVER CREEK PRESERVE
October 3 - 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Discover the Hidden Birds of Silver Creek. Join us for a field trip to Silver Creek Nature Preserve from 10:30 AM–12:30 PM to learn about birds in our area. After the program, families are invited to stay and enjoy a picnic lunch together at the facility. This event is free for members. Donations are accepted to support Silver Creek’s educational programs.

Join us for an engaging field trip with the Environmental Resource Center, where we’ll explore the human skeleton and body structure. If time allows, we’ll also learn a few first aid basics!

BOULDER MOUNTAIN CLAY WORKS

You’re invited to a private WRHC Clay & Pottery Workshop! Middle and high school students will try throwing clay on the pottery wheels, while elementary students will sculpt a mug and plate.
Cost: $10 per student

SNOW DAY AT GALENA WITH THE ERC
Snow Science at Galena Lodge
Friday, February 27 | 10:00 AM
Bundle up and join us for a fun, hands-on Snow Science adventure with the ERC! Students will learn about snow water equivalent (SWE), dig snow pits, and explore snow layers.
Snowshoes, hot cocoa, and lunch are included. Afterward, we’ll break into groups to explore the snowshoe trails, with options for a variety of distances and ability levels.
Cost: $10 per student (maximum $30 per family)
Dress for full outdoor fun! Lunch will be eaten outside.
